GCRE Railway Asset Showcase

The Global Centre of Rail Excellence (GCRE) is one of the most creative infrastructure ideas in European rail today.

When it opens in 2025 GCRE will be a facility providing world class research, testing and certification of rolling stock, infrastructure and innovative new technologies that will fill a strategic gap in rail not just in the UK, but across Europe. Backed by the Welsh and U.K. Governments, the facility has attracted significant interest from across the rail industry.

As construction begins on the South Wales facility, GCRE Ltd is offering the rail supply chain the opportunity to showcase donated products, technologies and assets by including it in the GCRE build as it is being constructed over the next two years, as the site positions itself as an international showcase for the best in railway innovation.

The GCRE team has developed a list of asset requirements that it is looking to include in the construction and we want to talk to you about the opportunity to showcase donated products in the build. At this stage GCRE Ltd is offering the opportunity to organisations to provide assets to the build at zero cost.

On Wednesday 8th February the GCRE team held a briefing event about the Railway Asset Showcase Opportunity to discuss in more detail this unique offer.

The competition is open until 12noon on 30th March 2023

The competition outcome will be announced on 21st April 2023
